GENERALThis specification governs the quality requirements of Epoxy Resin bondedpolyester film backed mica paper tape suitable for resin poor (VPI) insulationsystem. The epoxy binder and accelerator in the tape should be compatible withBisphenol-A and Diglycidylether based epoxy resin and acid anhydride hardenerbased VPI impregnation system. The mica paper shall be uncalcined phlogophitegrade. The material shall be free from cracks & folds. Polyester film shall haveshrinkage of 3% (max.) as per DIN40634 Gr. F1510. The coils insulated with thesetapes shall undergo VPI process with a solvent less epoxy resin and hardener mix andshall have a temperature index of at least 155. The material shall be supplied in blue!pink colour based on Sudan Black! Sudan Red or equivalent dye.2. APPLICATIONUsed for conductor insulation of stator coils of electrical machines with VPIsystem.3. COMPLIANCE WITH NATIONAL STANDARDSThere is no Indian standard coverrng this material.4. DIMENSIONS AND TOLERANCES4.1 Sizes: The thickness, width and length shall be as stated on the order.4.2 Standard Thickness0.09 mm :!::0.01 mm4.3 Standard width12 mm:!::0.2 mmHowever any other width can be ordered.4.4 Length! Roll 300 meterHowever, for special applications, any other length may be ordered.5. SHELF LIFEANDSTORAGES 5 QC 24 months, minimum from the date of delivery> 5 to S 25 QC 12 months, minimum from the date of delivery6. TEST METHODSUnless otherwise specified, all the tests shall be conducted as per the relevantmethods of IEC 60371 - 2.7. SAMPLE FOR TESTS (Not for suppliers)Two rolls of tape shall be sent to TSD for testing from every consignment.8.
